Almighty God Hears When I Pray

“Do you think,” the skeptic said,

“That God will hear you call?

Do you think that one so great

Would hark to one so small?

When all His plans are made,

To think that he should change things

Because a man has prayed?

I would not have the nerve to say

Almighty God would hear me pray!”

Mine is a heavenly Father,

Not cold and far away,

But one who walks beside me

And listens when I pray.

As many as receive Christ

Are sons of God I know;

My heart cries, “Abba, Father!”

And He would have it so.

What grace, that I, His child, can say

“Almighty God hears when I pray!”
