Daily Manna
I thank Thee, Lord, that while I see tomorrow’s pressing need
And know not in my weakness where to flee,
Yet I in simple faith can cast my care on Thee indeed
Thou hast not promised to supply tomorrow’s need today,
But daily manna Thou dost still provide,
And so I’ll cast my fears, and not my confidence, away
For to Thy child is no good thing denied.
Thy promise is for every need; my failure I confess,
But Thou canst not Thy faithfulness deny;
Thy promises do not depend upon my righteousness
But on Thy grace and bountiful supply.
I know my need, but better still, my Heav’nly Father knows,
Who owns the cattle on a thousand hills;
The silver and the gold are His, and everything that grows.
Can anything be other than He wills?
The Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give a crown of victory
When I the path of faith have humbly trod,
And so will I, whatever comes of good or ill to me,
Be still, and know that Thou alone art God.
