Experience

Fill my needy heart, O Lord, with prayer

That as I teach these little ones to pray

It be not sounding brass unto Thine ears,

But heart petition brought to Thee each day,

So vital, and so much a part of me

That as I teach them, they true prayer may see.

Lord, prove Thyself to me in prayer each day

That Samuel, who talked with God alone,

Bu not the only example I can give, -

Or Moses, who met God when he was grown;

But make me ready from my heart to say,

“Here is what God has done for me, today.”
