“He Answered Her Not A Word”

(Matt. 15:23)

Some bitter disappointment, some breaking of the heart,

Or great and crushing sorrow today may be your part.

And is the Saviour silent? “He answered not a word.”

And are you feeling surely your prayer was never heard?

Sometimes He must be silent to better show His care,

And yet, how truly, lovingly, He’s listened to your prayer.

The silences of Jesus are as faithful as His Word,

His way of leading, blessing, His proof that prayer is heard.

The weakest child can follow, when he can see his smile,

But those who rest upon His breast, can trust, and wait awhile!
