Help Me To Grow

Lord, let me grow today,

Whether it be by fire,

Whether it be by sword,

Keep Thou my one desire

Serving my Lord.

Lord, let me grow today,

And if my lot be care,

If clouds encompass me,

O may I not despair,

May I trust Thee.

Lord, let me grow today,

Thee have I sought for light

Waiting to see the sun:

If it be found in night

Thy will be done.

Lord, let me grow today,

Though storm and tempest tost

Help me to stand the test

Nor let me count the cost-

Thou knowest best.

Lord, let me grow today,

If patience be my need,

Or if humility,

Then Lord, the trials that feed

Send unto me.

Lord, let me grow today,

May I drink thankfully

Each cup of joy or woe,

Knowing it is from Thee-

Help me to grow.
