His Outstretched Arms
I’m on my way to heaven,
By Christ I’ve been made whole;
My sins are all forgiven
And gladness fills my soul;
But one thing mars my happiness,
Dear friend for whom I care:
What if I spend eternity
With Christ, and you’re not there!
I know that I’m a sinner,
Unworthy and defiled;
God placed my sins upon His Son
And now I am His child.
The door is opened wide for you,
With outstretched arms He stands,
Behold the scares upon His brow,
The nail prints in His hands.
His invitation must be met
With “yes” or “no” today;
There is no neutral middle ground,
And so, dear friend, I pray
Receive His gift of life today,
No longer hesitate,
For who know what tomorrow brings?
What if it were too late?
Kneel down in simple faith and pray
“I take Thee at Thy word;
Come now into my heart and be
My Saviour and my Lord.”
