Influence

The God you love so well, Teacher,

I want to know Him too,

For He must be a loving God

To make folks such as you.

The Bible that you use, Teacher,

I want to learn it well

So someday I may be like you

And other people tell.

I’ve heard folks speak of God before -

He seemed so far away;

But while you talked about Him

I saw His face today.

And when you told of how He died

To save me from my sin,

I opened wide my heart’s door

And Jesus entered in.
