My Prayer

That I may know Him, this my prayer

To sense the fullness of a love

That made the Lord of Heaven above

Look down on sinful man, and care.

That I may know the power that raised

The Lord of life Who died to save,

Opening wide His empty grave

Whom man despised and angels praised.

That I may know the joy to be

In suffering with the crucified,

Count self as dead with Him Who died

That He may live His life through me.
