Preparation

The preparation of mind is much

Before I am ready to teach,

For I must know my lesson well

And be prepared with ease to tell,

If children’s minds I’d reach.

The preparation of heart is more

Before I am ready to teach;

I must wait on God to know His will,

An empty channel for Him to fill,

If children’s hearts I’d reach.

The preparation of life - how great

Before I a ready to teach!

For though I know my lesson well,

My daily life for Christ must tell,

If children’s lives I’d reach.
