The Name Of Jesus

I know a Man, I know Him well,

Who conquered sin and death and hell,

The power of His name I’ll tell

Throughout the world - ‘tis Jesus.

I know a cross where He was hung

To bear the sins of old and young,

Let every mortal, every tongue

Whisper the name of Jesus.

I know a tomb where He was laid

When all the debt of sin was paid.

His loved ones wept, distraught, dismayed,

Before the tomb of Jesus.

I know how angels came at dawn,

Removed the rock and sat thereon

To show the world that He was gone.

No grave could hold my Jesus!

I know He’s coming back again

And even though I know not when

I’ll watch and wait and pray till then

“Come quickly, blessed Jesus.”
