What Is That In Thine Hand?
“What is that in thine hand?”
“It isn’t much, Lord - just a piece of bread.”
“Go share it with some weary, hungry child
Who has not food to eat,” my Saviour said.
“What is that in thine hand?”
“I’ve just a cup of water here, dear Lord.”
“Go give it to the thirsty in my name
And you in no wise shall lose your reward.”
“What is that in thine hand?”
“It’s just a song of joy you’ve given me.”
“Go sing it to some tired, discouraged soul
And I will multiply it unto thee.”
“What is that in thine hand?”
“It is the Word of God.” “Then you must share
For souls are lost and dying without hope,
Go spread salvation’s message everywhere.”
We each have in our hand
Some different gift or talent, large or small,
That He can bless and multiply and sure
If we will come to Him and yield our all.
